Taranaki Family Club was formed in 2005 with the aim of promoting 4 - wheel driving as a family recreational sport which is wholesome and fun. Also demonstrate motor vehicle practices, and to protect and enjoy the natural environment. A goal being to encourage recreational motorized access of public lands.
Our key Goals in the club are: To make it as casual as possible by having very friendly meetings. The meetings themselves only taking up minimal time with the "cuppa and chat" after being a very important aspect of our meetings. To go 4WD'ing and camping with a minimum of fuss, making it really just a way of formalising a group of friends going out on a 4WD'ing trip and sharing ideas/parts/tips etc with a bunch of like-minded individuals. We try to cater for the family shiny 4wd who may just want road and easy off road to those who love the tough truck action. As we value our environment we try to follow the "Tread Lightly" philosophy, sticking to refined tracks. Let our tyres down when on soft surfaces to and to protect the vegetation and wildlife.
You are more than welcome to come along and try out this amazing sport and hobby, meet new people and get a chance to see parts of Taranaki / New Zealand most never get to see.
